Description
To control and monitor all commercial aspects in the delivery of project throughout the construction life cycle of the project. To undertake cost management at pre-contract stage. Ensuring project costs, budgets and cash flow compliance, all within Company and Client Protocols and Procedures. With a focus on infrastructure projects.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Reviews and evaluates payment certificates
Prepares, reviews, and updates cash-flows.
Prepare cost options studies for a variety of infrastructure and public realm assets.
Possess sound knowledge and experience of all infrastructure works elements - roads, sitewide utilities & associated plants and equipment, structures etc
Assist in assessing, evaluating and making recommendations related to any financial claim and providing the necessary input with regards to settling such claims.
Assist in evaluation all change management including variations, additional works, field changes, additions and omissions, and incorporation of the same within the monthly cost reports.
Preparing and pricing Change Orders and negotiating agreement with the client and contractor as necessary.
Prepare star rates for new items and independently negotiate the rates for valuing of any instructed variations.
Conducting viability studies and cost estimates.
Provide assistance to the team during negotiations, arbitration, or any other forms of dispute resolution.
Evaluates and negotiates final accounts settlements
Working knowledge of industry recognized Contract forms (FIDIC) and standard methods of measurement including CESMM, POMI, NRM.
Excellent presentation and negotiation skills
Responsible for monitoring and managing all commercial and contractual matters related to the Project Works and liaising with Commercial/ Project Director to prepare responses and proposing mitigating actions.
Chair commercial meetings actively participate in monthly progress meetings, and interface with other construction team members to plan and meet overall project deliverables.
Responsible for preparing all commercial based management information as required to support monthly and ad-hoc reporting requirements.
Initiate, monitor and respond to all Contractual and Commercial correspondences.
Qualifications
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Quantity Surveying and/or Engineering (or equivalent) from an accredited, internationally recognized institution or University. As a minimum actively working towards MRICS or equivalent accreditation.
Minimum 5 year’s experience in the industry.
